Eileen K. Byrne has been promoted to President and CEO of the University of New Orleans (UNO) Research and Technology Foundation. She was previously the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer as well as her role as overseer for the board of directors.
The Foundation is a non-profit that works closely with the UNO Research and Technology Park through its position as builder and operator and owner of most of the Park facilities. It was founded to support the university in its research, property and facilitates financing, technology transfer and acquisition and management functions.
The Park opened its doors in 2001, now housing many of the Foundation’s administrative offices along with a number of other tenants.
The Park’s mission is to stimulate growth of enterprises committed to: developing public and private collaboration in research, technology advancement, and training and educational opportunities; promoting innovation and creativity through cultural and scientific interaction; strengthening economic competitiveness and work source development of the region; and creating a community that fosters a spirit of inquiry and exchange of ideas.
