MakerState and 4.0 Hosting Two Meet Ups for Kids Interested in Arts, Science and Technology

Maker StateKids ages 5-15 (and kids at heart) are invited to join two upcoming Maker Meet Ups in New Orleans hosted by MakerState and 4.0 Schools. The Meet Ups are designed to teach real-world skills to kids by having them learn by doing, creating, designing, experimenting, building, making and so on.

The first Meetup will be held this Saturday, July 20th from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at 4.0 Schools. The second Meet Up will be held Tuesday, July 23rd from 3:30 to 6:30 PM at the same location (643 Magazine Street).

The fun-filled day will have the participants thinking creatively and collaborating with peers in learning labs for science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM). “Makers,” level up through 30 badged proficiencies in six Masteries, including: Engineer, Author, Programmer, Designer, Artist, and Entrepreneur.

Maker Meet Up New Orleans means innovative maker learning for all involved. Activities at the event include: electronics hacking with Arduino; 3D printing; making a one-minute movie; creating pop-up graphic novels; sewing sensations; and building a car sail, popsicle board, egg drop and more.
