Free Educational Workshop Presents Healthcare Reform Information to Louisiana Businesses

LCIAThe Louisiana Construction and Industry Association (LCIA) is hosting an educational workshop titled “What’s Going on with Healthcare?” to share what businesses need to know about the Affordable Care Act.

In addition to policymakers, LCIA encourages all business owners, startup entrepreneurs and anyone interested in learning more about the reform to attend this Wednesday, August 28th at Zea Rotisserie & Grill.

“There is a lot of information floating around about the upcoming healthcare reforms, as well as misinformation,” said LCI Administrator Mark Tullis. “We have brought in LHEC to make sure that Louisiana’s business owners learn the facts and leave with an understanding of how the changes will affect their businesses.”

The event will feature a networking opportunity at 4:30 PM and a presentation by a member of the Louisiana Healthcare Education Coalition (LHEC) organization at 5:00 PM. The LHEC mission is to educate business owners and individuals about the healthcare changes set to take place. The speaker will give an overview of the Affordable Care Act with an emphasis on its effects on small businesses.

Christina Buras, LCIA’s Associate Director explained, “While our day-to-day objective is to help LCI insured businesses thrive, all Louisiana businesses contribute to the strength of our state’s economy. Since healthcare is such a universal topic, we look forward to having this be our first workshop open to the public. Hopefully this is the first of many.”

The workshop is free and open to the public, but advanced registration is recommended. Register here. For more information, visit lciassociation.com.
