At the end of July, UnLtd USA, an incubator for early stage social entrepreneurs, had a project successfully funded through Indiegogo that would take the incubator on the road. The month-long journey from coast to coast, putting on popup bootcamps for startup social entrepreneurs, will take place in cities around the United States.
New Orleans, ranked as one of the top startup cities in the country by Entrepreneur Magazine, is a stop on the tour, which launched this month. On September 15th, UnLtd USA will be hosting a free startup + drive bootcamp at 4.0 Schools from 12:00 to 6:00 PM.
It’s an amazing opportunity for locals who have recently started social ventures or are in the process of launching one, according to UnLtd’s recruitment manager Kelsey Coates.
Topics include: designing a pilot, impact assessment, crowdfunding, building an entrepreneurial team, reaching out to new customers and beneficiaries, business concept and plan, marketing, raising funds and investment, business plan and strategy and financial mode.
The half-day event will feature one-on-one clinics, workshops and talks from experienced entrepreneurs including: Zoe Schlag, Associate at UnLtd India and Founder of UnLtd USA; Pooja Warier, Co-founder, UnLtd India, Bombay Connect and Journeys for Change; Richard Alderson, Co-founder, UnLtd India, Journeys for Change and CareerShifters; and Hrag Richard Toutikian, entrepreneur. More information about the workshops can be found here.
Attendees can expect to walk away with additional practical skills on how to launch and run and high-impact venture. Additionally, they will be exposed to a community of locally-based peers and make connections to local partners and individuals supporting startup social entrepreneurs.
