Second Annual BioChallenge Will Award $25,000+ to Winners

Innovation LouisianaThrough its mission to identify and support the next generation of life science entrepreneurs in state, the New Orleans BioInnovation Center (NOBIC) is hosting the second annual BioChallenge.

The BioChallenge will take place during Innovation Louisiana 2013, a conference that will bring together innovators, investors and community members, which coincides with Global Entrepreneurship Week.

On November 18th, emerging life science company finalists will pitch for a prize package worth over $25,000. Both the first and second place companies will be awarded cash and services prize packages that includes startup funding, free work space at the BioInnovation Center, and pro bono services offered by local professional services firms.

Applicants should submit an executive summary describing the problem their startup addresses and the novel solution they are developing. Executive summaries will be scored by an independent panel of judges on several criteria, including business and product descriptions, market analysis, management team, and potential for investment.

To be eligible, companies must be officially incorporated in the state of Louisiana, have a core technology based in life science, and have an entrepreneur available to pitch for ten minutes at the competition.
