Baton Rouge Entrepreneurship Week Announces Schedule, Including High Stakes Pitch Night

BREWBaton Rouge Entrepreneurship Week (BREW) boasts 14 events throughout the weeklong series celebrating entrepreneurship on the week on November 18th. The week also coincides with Global Entrepreneurship Week, which is the world’s largest celebration of the innovators and job creators who launch startups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth and expand human welfare.

Entrepreneurs in the region and state are encouraged to come together to work, learn, play, teach, and show off, especially during BREW Pitch Night (November 20). All up and coming entrepreneurs seeking capital are encouraged to apply by submitting a business plan, executive summary and other supporting documents to senselouisiana@gmail.com. The deadline to apply is October 28th, 2013.

The results driven organization focused on connecting the Louisiana entrepreneur community, SeNSE, said that many of the companies who participated last year are doing phenomenally well, “all thanks to pitching their idea to the right people at the right time.”

Last year over $400,000 was pledged to companies who pitched in front of the judges who were originally prepared to invest $25,000 each. At the end of the pitches, it turned out to be a much larger figure than the suspected $125,000 and five companies, including Whipsy, The Outdoor Shopper, Bioceptive, LaCell, and VoiceHIT took home top prizes.

Tonight, join SeNSE and all of the entrepreneurial minds in Baton Rouge for the BREW kick off party at Le Bon Temps Bar & Grill. Attendees will hear from event partners including representatives from BRAC, Creative LA, Goldman Sachs, Louisiana Tech Park, SEI, SpringboardBR and SeNSE. RSVP here.
