Venyu Solutions Inc., which has been a pioneer in offsite backup, has announced the expansion of their data center in the Bon Carré Business Park in Baton Rouge.
“We’re adding to everything we do,” said Brian Vandegrift, executive vice president of sales and innovation at Venyu. “Cloud computing, backup services, power and cooling.”
Venyu was founded in 1989 and is currently headquartered in Baton Rouge with roughly 75 employees.
Telecommunications company Eatel acquired Venyu earlier this year, a move that will increase the services the company can offer business clients.
“The acquisition of Venyu positions EATEL within the rapidly growing cloud-based business services, data center, and hosting markets. Venyu’s success in the Gulf South coupled with our expanding fiber network and corporate footprint will provide both entities with new growth opportunities,” said John Scanlan, President and Vice Chairman at EATEL.
Although Matt Wallace and Brian Vandegrift from Venyu believe the expansion would have happened regardless of the Eatel deal, Wallace said that Eatel helped bolster the effort in getting the expansion done.
The 15,000 square foot expansion is set to allow Venyu to increase data storage which will hopefully lead to more clients and employees, according to Wallace and Vandergrift.
