Health 2.0 promotes healthcare technology through a global series of conferences, code-a-thons and more targeted at tech and startup communities. New Orleans debuted its chapter back in July and has held monthly meetups ever since.
The November meetup, featuring Tom Krohn, Director of Open Clinical Innovation at Eli Lilly will be held on November 21st, 2013 at 5:30 PM at the New Orleans BioInnovation Center (the event will wrap up at 7:00 PM sharp due to a Saints game that evening).
Health 2.0 New Orleans cofounder Lem Sanders said the BioInnovation Center is the ideal spot for the event and they have been supportive of the project. The meeting is free and open to anyone interested in healthcare technology.
“We really wanted to bring more awareness to digital health opportunities and support local entrepreneurs with a platform to network and learn about healthcare technologies outside of New Orleans, but also hear from local leadership about the healthcare challenges that are unique to this community,” said Sanders.
According to meetup organizers, Krohn is a healthcare industry champion of open innovation and technologies that drive capabilities to empower patients or fight diseases. At Eli Lilly, he oversees projects that are focused on making public data about clinical trials available in useful formats.
