Instead of another eight year wait (prior to April, Pubcon was last in New Orleans in 2005), Pubcon is coming back to New Orleans for the second time within a year. The conference, along with hundreds of technology speakers and thousands of attendees, will be held on March 17 – 20, 2014 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.
Pubcon began in 2000 as an informal gathering of early search engine optimizers and webmasters at a London pub. Over the years Pubcon has shifted away from its original pub gathering meaning and more towards the is the premier social media and optimization conference it has become.
Brett Tabke, Pubcon CEO, attributed the return of the conference to its resounding success back in April.
“Pubcon loves New Orleans, and we’re thrilled to choose such a vibrant and exciting city as the location for Pubcon New Orleans 2014, which we expect to be one of the year’s biggest social media and digital marketing conferences,” Pubcon lead editor Lane R. Ellis said.
Pubcon is planning its biggest and best event yet. Top keynotes scheduled for March include Dr. Robert Cialdini, professor emeritus of psychology and marketing at Arizona State University, social psychologist, and author of the bestselling book “Influence: Science & Practice”; Tim Ash, author, chief executive at SiteTuners, and a noted speaker and leading expert in online conversion who wrote the book on landing page optimization; and Peter Shankman, author and angel investor.
“Pubcon New Orleans 2014 is going to be one of the biggest and most exciting gatherings of new media and digital marketing trailblazers that we’ve ever had the pleasure to put together, and we’re delighted to return to The Big Easy in 2014 for a Pubcon like no other,” Tabke said.
