EPNO Seeks Applicants for 6th Class of Local Emerging Philanthropists

The application for the sixth class of Emerging Philanthropists of New Orleans (EPNO) is now live. The organization was created to engage young leaders in New Orleans in philanthropy, which includes three core concepts: inspire, impact and connect.

EPNOThe 2014 Class will participate in a high-engagement, six-month program where they will be able to participate in sessions, get hands-on experience, and join a team with members who have the same mission as you do.

One EPNO alum said, “Participating in EPNO not only will teach you to become a strategic philanthropist, it also will connect you with interesting people and organizations in New Orleans.”

To date, over 160 young professionals have completed the grantmaking programs, working with local organizations–to which they have distributed more than $160,000 in grants– to engage with philanthropy. Past participants make a real impact through supporting causes such as arts and culture, crime, economic development, education and youth development, environment, healthcare, housing and women’s issues.

Past grant recipients include Propeller (formerly Social Entrepreneurs of New Orleans), 2-Cent Entertainment, and takeashine.

EPNO attracts next-generation leaders in the region who are interested in pooling their resources to support these various organizations. They are hosting a recruitment event for interested individuals at Eiffel Society on Wednesday, March 12th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

The deadline to submit an application to be a part of the EPNO Class of 2014 is Friday, March 21 at 5:00 PM.
