New Orleans Entrepreneur Week (NOEW) is the culmination of The Idea Village’s annual Entrepreneur Season and The Big Idea is the culminating event of NOEW.
Organizers expect to engage more than 5,000 entrepreneurs, businesses executives, prominent investors, and MBA students through over 56 innovative events throughout the week.
The Idea Village wants all of those attendees at The Big Idea to “chip in” to their favorite companies using the provided $25 chips. At the party’s end, the three entrepreneurs with the most chip money will advance to the final round and be eligible to win an additional $50,000.
Organizers call it the world’s largest crowd-funded pitch contest.
The crowdfunding site designed specifically for New Orleans-related projects, FundDat, posted a video of co-founder Alex McConduit explaining why you should “chip in” at The Big Idea on Friday, March 28th.
Other companies demoing and potentially pitching at The Big Idea are: 4D Supplements, Athletic Performance Testing (APT), Bats on Tees, BitBike, Cajun Fire Brewing Company,Culture Connect, FundDat, iSEEChange, KREWE du optic, MakerState, Threadix, Where Y’Art, and Locally Preserved.
FundDat is also one of the eight companies who will demoing at the Silicon Bayou Startup Showcase tomorrow night (March 26) at 7:30 PM at Le Foret.
