Startup Supporter Baker Donelson to Host Emerging Companies Boot Camp during NOEW

Baker DonelsonAs a continual supporter of the local startup and entrepreneurial community, Baker Donelson is excited to announce their Emerging Companies Bootcamp, taking place during New Orleans Entrepreneur Week (NOEW) on March 28th.

The event will bring together successful entrepreneurs, capital investors and legal and accounting professionals for the benefit of the emerging companies community. Baker Donelson hopes the high-level tutorial on legal issues will greatly benefit startups in the area.

Attendees will learn about corporate formation basics, intellectual property essentials including trademarks, copyrights and patents, global business basics, accounting and back office basics, tax incentives for startups, real estate basics for emerging companies, and venture capital term sheet negotiation.

The Global Business Basics session will be led by Klinton Alexander, a Baker Donelson attorney who focuses his practice in the areas of international law, commercial litigation and government affairs. His discussion will provide New Orleans-based companies insights into issues to consider when setting up import/export agreements in addition to information about the firm’s export compliance tools.

Baker Donelson shareholder David Rieveschl will be available to talk about Louisiana-based startups and issues affecting their legal structure, intellectual property rights and venture capital financing, particularly in the life sciences, technology and energy industries.

The full agenda is available here. More information about the Emerging Companies Bootcamp can be found here: http://www.southeasternstartups.com/new-orleans-march-2014/.
