From the makers of the Louisiana Film Prize comes the first Louisiana Startup Prize, a project that will combine entrepreneurial education with the intensity of a competition.
Gregory Kallenberg has teamed with John Grindley from Cohab Shreveport to announce the competition that will help develop better entrepreneurs, connect them with investors and help create an entrepreneurial culture in northwest Louisiana.
“We’ve once again created something that is nationally unique,” Kallenberg said. “We are going to essentially teach these entrepreneurs how to win the grand prize and potentially get their startups funded. If these entrepreneurs take the Startup Prize seriously and attend, learn and network, they will not only have the best chance to win, they will have the best chance to succeed in their endeavor.”
Join Cohab on Wednesday, April 16th at 6:00 PM at Cohab for the Louisiana Startup Prize kickoff party. RSVP on Facebook today.
Following the announcement and kickoff, qualifying events will be held on June 6th and July 18th at Cohab. Startups with an eye on the $50,000 grand prize must attend at least one weekend-long qualifier. During the qualifiers, startup teams will connect with experts, educators, mentors and coaches who will help them build ideas into businesses.
“Northern Louisiana is on the brink of an entrepreneurial revolution,” Kallenberg said. “The Startup Prize, and its gathering of innovative business minds and eager investors will change our entrepreneurial landscape forever.”
The Startup Prize finale will take place September 18th through 20th where participating startups will present to the board of directors. The board will have an opportunity to invest in the final projects.
