Next New Orleans Women in Technology Workshop Focused on LinkedIn

New Orleans Women in Technology (WIT) was started in 2013 with a goal to get more local women into higher paying jobs. In keeping with that goal, the organization has begun hosting community workshops aimed at teaching small business owners how to build their own websites and more.

New Orleans Women in Technology WITOn June 7th, 2014 from 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM, organizers are hosting a free LinkedIn workshop at Beta, a shared coworking space, located at 800 Common Street in New Orleans.

New Orleans WIT writes: “Do you have to be a LinkedIn expert to be exceptional and effective in your marketing and networking efforts? Are you really taking full advantage of LinkedIn’s vast reach as the world’s largest professional network? Did you know LinkedIn reduces headaches and let’s you sleep better at night? I’ll show you the nuts and bolts of LinkedIn and why this electronic rolodex of information is a must have in everyone’s personal and professional portfolio. In this 2-hour workshop you will learn how to make the most of your LinkedIn account, including how to properly brand yourself via your LinkedIn profile. We will also have a photographer on-site to provide complimentary head shots for your new & improved profile!”

Jeff Funk, Creative Director, WGNO-TV & NOLA 38, will host the workshop. The Emmy Award-Winning creative director and digital content producer, who is based in New Orleans, has spent his career managing brand activations and teams with high viewer engagement. Funk is passionate about personal brands and how they play a role in today’s hectic world of deadlines, the internet and social media.
