The Jefferson Parish Economic Development Commission (JEDCO) celebrated the grand opening of its new 8,000 square foot conference center with a ribbon cutting Thursday evening (June 12).
The JEDCO headquarters is situated on the mostly undeveloped Churchill Technology and Business Park-owned land, which spans 500 acres.
JEDCO and Jefferson Parish officials hope the state-of-the-art facility showcases the continued growth and success on the West Bank. The conference center can seat up to 150 people in a variety of configurations, and also features a large supply of audio/visual equipment, a full-service prep kitchen, and even ten pieces of Michalopoulos artwork.
“The grand opening of the JEDCO Conference Center is a major milestone for the Churchill Technology and Business Park,” says Jerry Bologna, JEDCO Executive Director. “Each new opening in the park highlights the continued investment into our business community. It has been our vision for many years to develop this park into a premiere destination for business. As we enhance our offerings within the park, through the building of this state-of-the-art facility, we are moving closer to achieving our goals for this community.”
Previously located in Avondale, Louisiana, the park along with JEDCO and its new conference center are now considered to be in the newly rebranded Fairfield. The goal is to make the area a thriving hub for business on the West Bank where the Huey P. Long Bridge expansion was recently completed.
“I think when you look at the rebranding of this area and couple it with the assets of this area … there are so many offerings already there,” said Bologna. “We can come in with a clean slate and make it into something special.”
