Propeller: A Force for Social Innovation and the New Orleans Redevelopment Authority (NORA) have partnered for the annual PitchNOLA 2014: Lots of Progress competition, which will take place on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Propeller.
Applications are due next Tuesday July 15, 2014 at 4:00 PM.
PitchNOLA is seeking proposals from qualified companies and individuals interested in creating economic development activity on NORA-owned vacant lots. The competition will allot a $7,500 cash prize, courtesy of Entergy, technical assistance from Propeller, and the opportunity to lease and/or purchase of the properties to the winner.
“The goal of this year’s competition is to activate vacant lots in neighborhoods across the city,” said NORA’s Executive Director, Jeff Hebert. “We look forward to receiving proposals that will expand economic opportunity while respecting the culture of our neighborhoods.”
Propeller’s executive director Andrea Chen said, “Propeller is excited to partner with NORA once again to “spur innovative, community-oriented commercial activities on vacant lots.”
