Four New Orleans companies that are known for their involvement in the growing entrepreneurial community have announced a brand new initiative with Kickstarter, the crowdfunding platform that attracts international projects.
4.0 Schools, The Idea Village, Launch Pad and Propeller have teamed up for a program designed to get the local community on the platform called Kickstarter CREATE: New Orleans.
The inaugural event will take place on October 21st from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Launch Pad. Participants and organizers will brainstorm ideas, workshop creative projects, and prepare to launch them to the world.
With the tagline “Kickstarter wants YOU,” the initiative plans to harness the innovative, creative, and collaborative spirit of our community, culminating in the opportunity to showcase launched Kickstarter projects at New Orleans Entrepreneur Week and Launch Fest in the spring.
Representatives from Kickstarter will provide mentorship, access to the creator community, and educational resources. Additionally, Tippy Tippens, Earl Scioneaux, Kyle June Williams and Pizza Delicious are on board, according to the registration page.
