Startup Weekend New Orleans Makes Third Appearance in Two Years

Startup WeekendStartup Weekend is an event where developers, designers, marketers, product managers, and startup enthusiasts come together to launch startups in just 54-hours.

The Big Easy has already hosted two successful Startup Weekend events and are gearing up for a third. The upcoming Startup Weekend will be held from November 21-23 at Launch Pad in the IP Building, which is already considered a hub for the city’s entrepreneurial activity. It will be held in conjunction with UP Global during Global Entrepreneur Week.

Hundreds of Startup Weekend events are hosted around the world and winning teams from each event move forward to compete with one another via a global video competition.

As the organization says, “It is our job to provide you with an incredible networking and learning opportunity. Our intention is that you meet some amazing people that you might actually start a company with, build relationships with coaches, and learn from your peers.”

The event will begin with open mic pitches on Friday where attendees bring their best ideas and inspire others to join their team. Saturday and Sunday will primarily be devoted to customer development, validation, practicing lean startup methods, and building a minimum viable product.

On Sunday evening, teams will demo their prototypes and receive feedback from judges. The pitch night will also double at November’s NOLA Meetup.

Ticket options to attend the entire weekend or just the pitch night on Sunday as an observer are available here.

Discounted tickets are also available to NOLA Meetup members. More information is available at meetup.com/nolameetup.
