Pixel Dash Studios specializes in interactive media, video game development, graphic design, and 3D animation. The company works with clients to develop original products from the ground up or to improve existing products.
Their latest project was with the New Orleans Pelicans. Pixel Dash worked with the organization to build the game Quest for the Coast within the existing app, which is designed to provide a fun way to educate fans about coastal issues throughout the region.
Quest for the Coast features the Pelicans’ mascot, Pierre the Pelican, working his way through the game to save the coast and helping to rebuild shorelines. The Pelicans released that while collecting items, “including oyster shells, sediment and plants to help protect the coast, Pierre has to avoid items like storms, nutria and abandoned fishing nets.”
According to the press release, the Pelicans picked Pixel Dash because of their familiarity and passion for increasing awareness about coastal issues.
“Since we announced the Pelicans team name change, coastal restoration has been a cause at the forefront of our community initiatives, partnership and events. We are thrilled to launch Quest for the Coast presented by Chevron as it establishes the opportunity to educate our fans about the importance of coastal restoration to the Gulf South, as well as provide them with a fun, engaging game featuring Pierre the Pelican,” said Pelicans Owner/Vice Chairman of the Board Rita Benson LeBlanc.
The app is available both on the App Store and on Google Play.
