Meetup Alert: Startups and Supercomputing Collide at New STEM Meetup on November 17

StartupHPC is a community initiative that is launching in New Orleans on Monday (November 17). The new organization  aims to link Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) practitioners and high performance computing (HPC) startups to investors and industry.

StartupHPCThe hope is that this will “fuel the critical velocity and visibility to the vast contributions, creativity and ingenuity that originates from HPC disciplines and disciples and its direct influences on the human enterprise,” explained the organization.

The event, which will offer networking opportunities and to short talks by some of the industry’s best, coincides with SC14, the international supercomputing conference in town this week. Startup HPC will take place at the Royal Sonesta New Orleans from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Organizers said “StartupHPC has attracted industry visionaries, innovators, investors and advisory leaders recognized for their own contributions to redefining traditional constructs, convictions and conventions around technology, education, entrepreneurship, society and ‘what is HPC.’“
