New Orleans Women in Technology (WIT), the organization that exists to improve the industry landscape for women in IT, has announced their Website Bootcamp with WordPress will be held on January 31st from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Propeller.
The organizers provided a description of the event: “Using the right tools, creating your own website is far easier than one would imagine. In this 4-hour course, participants will learn how to build their own website using the free, and easy-to-use WordPress platform.”
In just four hours, attendees will learn how to create posts and pages, build a navigation menu, apply themes, and customize themes. They will also leave the workshop with their own fully functional website, and no prior programming experience is required.
Wendy Dolan will the the instructor at the Website Bootcamp. She moved to New Orleans in 2011 and founded Get Online NOLA, a locally-minded offspring of her world-wide website design company, Faudo (which she and her husband started in 2008 and is now also based in New Orleans). Wendy is also the Vice President of Marketing and PR for the American Business Women’s Association, and a New Orleans WIT board member.
