StartingBloc Leadership Institute is Coming to New Orleans

StartingBloc brings together entrepreneurs, activists, educators, and  innovators from all around the world working to create change through the organization’s leadership institute.

While StartingBloc has been around for 12 years, the organization will make its first appearance in New Orleans May 28th through June 1st. Fellows will get connected to both locals and visitors through a five day interactive experience that will allow them to hear from other change makers, leaders, speakers and more.

“We connect them to their tribe and give them access to the resources, co-conspirators, projects and support they need to create the impact they want,” explains Virgil Looney, fellowship director at StartingBloc.

Although the deadline for early application in New Orleans has passed, applicants have until March 5th to apply before the regularly scheduled deadline.

“NOLA has a thriving social innovation ecosystem; one we want to learn from and support,” adds the website.

Over 2,000 fellows have participated in the StartingBloc program over the years. They have run 53 institutes, including people from 50 nationalities that congregate in the 10 regional hubs. The average age of participants in 27. Find out more about the program and its stats at startingbloc.org.
