New Orleans-based Clear Health Analytics has been selected as a winner in the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Plan Choice Challenge, a national competition focused on catalyzing health tech innovation that helps consumers make better healthcare decisions.
Co-founders Kathryn Wollan and Jennifer Sclar are currently Propeller Fellows in the annual social venture accelerator program in New Orleans. They are working to build the tools to empower consumers to make smart decisions about their health insurance and healthcare costs.
The duo took home $10,000 from the competition after winning based on the following criteria: effective integration of theHealth Insurance Exchange (HIX) Compare dataset; creativity and innovation; design, usability and intuitiveness of application; and potential to help consumers make informed decisions on purchasing health insurance.
Clear Health Analytics’ online tool is fast and easy, providing clear and unbiased cost-comparison information to consumers. The app predicts a person’s healthcare utilization and gives consumers the information they need to make an informed health insurance decision.
