New Orleans Business Alliance Names New President and CEO

Quentin MesserThe New Orleans Business Alliance (NOLABA) has selected a new President and CEO, Quentin L. Messer, Jr.

NOLABA is the city’s official economic development agency working to brng high value jobs and investment to New Orleans.

Messer spent the last three years with Louisiana Economic Development, most recently in the role of Assistant Secretary.

Messer now leads initiatives and programs related to business intelligence, economic competitiveness, small business services, business attraction and retention, including the Bioinnovation and Health Sciences cluster, and has overall responsibility for executing the Business Alliance’s ProsperityNOLA strategy.

According to the organization, their Board of Directors took a deliberate and methodical approach to selecting Messer. “We had the luxury of time because of the intense level of Board engagement, a highly professional and capable staff and the leadership capabilities of Melissa Ehlinger, who has ably held the reins over the last several months,” said Henry L. Coaxum, Jr., Chairman of the Board of Directors.

“I feel confident his passion for economic development, informed by his experience in government, private sector and nonprofit environments, will help accelerate the trajectory NOLABA has set so far,” continued Coaxum.
