FitLot Launches Crowdfunding Campaign for Flagship Fitness Park

FitLotFitLot, the New Orleans-based nonprofit dedicated to building a network of outdoor fitness parks throughout the city and beyond, has crowdfunding campaign through the site designed specifically for nonprofits, CommitChange.

The funds raised through the campaign will go towards building the first of many fitness parks in the area. The first park will be a custom designed FitLot along the Lafitte Greenway in the Treme Neighborhood of New Orleans.

“Unfortunately fitness parks don’t grow on trees and after a year and a half of planning and fundraising we need our friends, family, partner organizations and future FitLot users to step up and show that we all want free fitness parks in our city,” explains Adam Mejerson, executive director of FitLot.

FitLot is seeking $35,000 to cover the cost of the outdoor exercise equipment that will be available to the community free of charge for the next 10 years. Additional funds will be needed for the full installation and surfacing of the park.

With 14 days remaining, the crowdfunding campaign has received $14,847 from 151 supporters. To find out more or to contribute, click here.
