The Global Shapers Community is a network of over 450 international hubs designed to target and engage emerging leaders under 30 who want to make an impact on their communities. Since launching as an initiative of the World Economic Forum four years ago, there are now over 5,800 members around the world.
The New Orleans Global Shapers hub is hosting a happy hour on September 10 to introduce the hub to the greater New Orleans community.
Open to all, the upcoming happy hour will be for potential future recruits as well as individuals and organization who may need help through the consulting grant offered each year by the group.
Originally launched last year, the consulting grant offers expertise, free of charge, from the hub to New Orleans organizations, including resources such as marketing, branding and logo design, event support and more.
The concept of the consulting grant stemmed from the Global Shapers’ mission to create value in the region utilizing the Shaper’s expertise and networks of resourceful, creative individuals. The New Orleans Global Shapers will be launching this year’s application later this month to hear from local organizations about what they need most. Grant recipients will be chosen in October 2015.
