New Orleans Women in Technology (WIT), the organization that exists to improve the industry landscape for women in IT, is hosting a free Graphic Data Workshop on November 14 from 10:00am to 2:00pm at Propeller.
“In a world where we’re overwhelmed by data, presenting information in a beautiful and meaningful manner can be what sets your business apart,” explains the event description.
Event instructor Marian Herbert-Bruno will lead a discussion around design basics for presenting data, emphasizing charts and graphs for presentation, no matter if it’s an infographic or a detailed research presentation. Additional topics include advanced techniques in Word and Excel charts and program selection for choosing copy, screen presentations or a publishing for print platform. The workshop will then focus on vector vs. pixel software.
Herbert-Bruno is a graphic designer specializing in university magazines, recruitment, fundraising and public relations for higher education institution. Past projects include work with Tulane University, New Mexico State University, Columbia Business School, Wake Forest University, Graduate Management Admissions Council, New York Law School and University of California–Berkeley.
