Masabi, the global leader in transit mobile ticketing and innovative fare collection, and Transdev the private operating partner of the Regional Transit Authority have announced deployment of mobile ticketing in New Orleans, “Go Mobile”. The ticketing will be available citywide across bus, ferry and streetcar services.
Smartphone uses will now have the option to purchase, store and display tickets for both immediate and future travel, states a release. Mobile ticketing will eliminate ticket purchase wait time, especially during large events and times of high traffic.
The technology is part of Masabi’s JustRide platform, a cloud-based, deployment-proven, end-to-end mobile ticketing and fare collection system. JustRide include secure payments, ticket management, real-time analytics and more. Other cities currently using the platform include Boston, Athens and London.
“In deploying our mobile ticketing technology we are bringing cutting-edge innovation to riders of the city’s transit network,” says Joshua Robin, Masabi’s Vice President for North America.
“This new service is going to provide a new level of convenience for riders while also lowering the burden on existing ticket sales architecture,” said Justin T. Augustine, III, Vice President of Transdev. “Riders can now purchase a ticket from anywhere, and at any time for bus, ferry or streetcar, making waiting in line to buy a ticket a thing of the past.”
