Two Startups Win Inaugural Digital MediaX Accelerator in New Orleans

Digital MediaX is one of three 12-week accelerator programs hosted by The Idea Village for New Orleans-based entrepreneurs. The inaugural cohort included five founders with innovative digital information sharing concepts readily accessible on a mobile platform.

Central to the program is a curated network of business experts available to participating founders.

The three programs are part of the larger Entrepreneur Season, which kicks off each year in July and runs through New Orleans Entrepreneur Week (NOEW) in March, which will highlight many of the accelerator entrepreneurs.

Digital MediaX culminated at Demo Day on December 10 where each company pitched in front of a panel of judges from NOLA Media Group, a partner in the accelerator.

Participating startups and entrepreneurs included:

  1. Culturalyst – Sam Bowler
  2. DreamStarter – Arielle Jordan & Kaitlin Kubisch
  3. Kudoboard – Aaron Rubens
  4. MySpiltMilk.com – Alex Rawls
  5. Toured – Karynn Verrett

Digital MediaX companies each had a shot at $1,000, networking trips to New York sponsored by Advance Local, and three months of free work space courtesy of the NOLA Media Group.

Cuturalyst, a platform for finding artists by creative category,  and Toured, a travel app that curates itineraries, were announced the winners at Demo Day.
