Dallas-based Techsterz is hosting a technology workshop, TechShop for Kids, in New Orleans this spring. The daylong event will take place Monday, March 21 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the University of New Orleans.
The workshop is designed to impact kids in technology and improve their STEM robotics understanding, which will be accomplished through three technology based exercise and a group robotics project.
Techsterz owner Ilvin Parker is a New Orleans native who wants to expose the local kids to the real world of technology.
“We will teach the kids how to create a slideshow using Microsoft PowerPoint, WordPress web design and group project to assemble a mBot,” he shared. “Then we will code the movement using Scratch programming language.”
Parker says the highlight of the program will be the coding of the robot’s movement and the mBot parade at the end of the session for everyone to showcase the movement they coded.
The free workshop is open to kids ages 9-16.
