New Orleans Women in Technology Adds Monthly Workshops and Webinars

New Orleans Women in Technology (WIT) is a professional organization focused on improving the Industry landscape for women in IT. Over the last three years, they have increased programming and events for the local technology community. The organization continues to grow and now hosts monthly workshops and webinars.

New Orleans WITOn February 20, WIT will host a beginner level UI/UX design workshop at the Anna Many Lounge in the Caroline Richardson Building of Tulane University from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Attendees will gain an understanding of User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) Design, learning the basics using hands on activities throughout the workshop.

“Over the course of 3 hours, they will learn the basics using hands on activities, and will acquire the tools needed to make informed decisions, analyze customer behavior and create effective user interfaces and experiences,” explains WIT. “Attendees will also gain a beginner level skill set in working with developers, constant design cycle, UI/UX career opportunities and applications beyond software.”

The workshop will be led by Amanda Pate and Jeremy Miller from the Peter Mayer Advertising Agency.

The second event will be their first lunchtime webinar of 2016, “Workflows for Your Business: A guide to analyzing and setting up processes based on your needs,” scheduled for February 23 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.

Instructor Skyler Stroup, a business analyst team lead at iSeatz, will share advice on how to identify and document the workflow and processes that work best for your company and for your team.
