Workshops for WordPress users, called WordCamps, have been held around the world for the last decade. The first Louisiana event of its kind, WordCamp NOLA, will take place on August 13 at Tulane’s Lavin-Bernick Center.
The workshop features two tracks, one for developers, designers, and businesses, and the other for bloggers, publishers, and the community.
Topics covered will include search-engine optimization, e-commerce, blogging techniques, social media strategies and more.
Speakers are members of the tech community in New Orleans and beyond, including: Shercole King, board member for New Orleans Women in Technology and Homeless Management Information Systems Administrator for VIA LINK; Wendy Dolan, founder of Get Online NOLA; and Burke Ingraffia, owner of Point Clear Media, LLC.
More than 25% of the web runs on WordPress. “Its users represent independent bloggers, small-business owners, large corporations, web developers, web designers and more,” explains organizers.
Tickets to WordCamp NOLA are available here.
