Ochsner Health System and GE are looking for applicants with the next big idea in home health technology through the Healthy@Home Innovation Challenge.
“This Challenge seeks to identify patient-centered technologies that can improve patient healthcare by discretely sensing, monitoring and analyzing activity in the home,” reveals Ochsner.
Healthy@Home has two phases, each with an opportunity to win cash awards. Up to four respondents will receive $2,500 and be eligible to participate in the next phase of the challenge. In Phase 2, up to one of the participants will be eligible to receive additional funding for six months from a discretionary pool of $15,000. Other co-development opportunities may also be available in addition to the cash funding.
Submissions for Phase 1 are due September 23, 2016 and on January 13, 2017 for Phase 2. Awards for the final phase will be distributed during New Orleans Entrepreneur Week (NOEW), produced by The Idea Village, the organization administering the Healthy@Home Challenge.
“The outcomes of these technologies will enable highly personalized patient experiences and treatment plans—and also may lead to reduced total costs of care, improved the quality of care, enhanced speed of care, and/or improved access to care,” shared Ochsner.
