INNOV8 Acadiana is the Acadiana region’s entrepreneurial nonprofit working to build an entrepreneurial ecosystem. The organization is currently seeking energy applicants for the second annual LAGCOE Energy Innovators Pitch Challenge.
Startups with an early idea of their product or service to established companies looking to branch out are welcome to apply.
The pitch is part of the LAGCOE Education and Innovation Summit, two packed days of educational and entrepreneurial events slated for October 26 – 27.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with LAGCOE and the Acadiana Angels to bring more energy innovation to our region, especially during these rough times for the industry,” said Pete Prados, director of INNOV8. “When times are tough, there is a group we can always rely on to turn things around: our entrepreneurs. This competition will put them in the spotlight to bring unprecedented innovation to our region!”
LAGCOE, the Louisiana Gulf Coast Oil Exposition, is focused on showcasing new technologies in the oil and gas industry even beyond the Innovation Summit. The non-profit has been known for decades for its exposition in Lafayette and has continued to expand programming over the last four years.
Applications for the Energy Pitch are due by October 16. Up to five finalists will then be selected for the pitch on Wednesday, October 26 at the Cajundome. The winning applicants will receive $5,000 to pursue their ideas, products, or services.
