Baton Rouge-Based VC Fund Offering Resources for Flood Recovery Ideas

Innovation Catalyst, a Baton Rouge-based nonprofit venture development organization, is giving people money for great flood-recovery ideas.

The newly launched Innovation Catalyst Challenge is seeking  ideas and creative solutions to a disaster related problem. The fund will then connect selected entrepreneurs to the resources they need to get started.

“Necessity is the mother of innovation,” says Louis Freeman, Jr. CEO of Innovation Catalyst. “Our mission is to support entrepreneurs and to assist in developing the businesses created out of their ideas.”

“Recovery comes in many different stages. People will have ideas throughout the process,” said Freeman. There is no hard deadline because it’s an ongoing process. Innovation Catalyst said all ideas with a business potential will be considered.
