Biomedical Research Foundation Unveils New Name

Biomedical Research Foundation, a Shreveport-based organization supporting businesses in the region, has announced a new name, logo and branding. Now called BRF, the new tagline is “building our region’s future,” and the mission is to diversity and grow the region’s economy.

BRF has been helping young companies in North Louisiana since it was founded in 1986. In the past decade, the organization has added six new business units, grown its total assets from $63 million to $382 million, operating budgets from $15 million to $500 million, and total employees from 51 to over 3,300.

This latest news reflects the many business categories BRF reaches, including biomedical, healthcare, entrepreneurial development, digital media, and more.

“While biomedical research remains a very important part of our overall mission, we’ve experienced growth across many other business categories,” said John F. George, Jr., M.D., President and CEO of BRF.

One of BRF’s goals it to build a creative workforce skilled in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) disciplines by raising private and public funds and assisting with project development for K-12 programs. For more information, visit www.brfla.org
