AT&T Fiber Network Now Available in New Orleans

Parts of the Greater New Orleans area now have ultra-fast Internet service through AT&T’s 100% fiber network. The network allows customers to choose Internet speed in areas including parts of St. Tammany Parish, Lafourche Parish, Tangipahoa Parish and Terrebonne Parish, and parts of the city of New Orleans.

AT&T is hoping the new fiber accessibility will help grow small businesses and improve access to educational opportunities. “The 100% fiber network from AT&T will contribute to our growing economy and high quality of life in St. Tammany Parish,” said St. Tammany Parish President Pat Brister.

Since 2013, AT&T has invested more than $1 billion in its wireless and wired networks in Louisiana alone. The company now markets its fiber service to over 3 million locations throughout the United States.

“Our customers are increasingly interacting with their world in more data-intensive ways,” said Sonia Perez, state president, AT&T Louisiana. “A growing number of people are streaming content directly from their devices, and interacting with family and friends through live videos. For these reasons, we’re bringing our fastest internet speeds to the Greater New Orleans area and its surrounding communities.”
