Gordon Technologies Wins Energy Innovators Pitch Competition

INNOV8 Acadiana is the Acadiana region’s entrepreneurial nonprofit working to build an entrepreneurial ecosystem. The organization hosted the second LAGCOE Energy Innovators Pitch Challenge on October 26.

Pete Prados, director of INNOV8, said the competition will put the Acadiana region in the spotlight in terms of innovation. The pitch was part of the LAGCOE Education and Innovation Summit, two packed days of educational and entrepreneurial events slated for October 26 – 27.

Five innovators presented ideas and products that are ready to change the energy industry. Terry Frith of Gordon Technologies and Chad Deville with Louisiana Technical Instruments were the 2016 winners of the energy pitch.

Frith was the grand prize winner, taking home $5,000 donated by Cox Business and Jones Walker after pitching his company’s highly effective measurement while drilling system.

The audience favorite award went to Deville, who pitched a patented apparatus that reduces methane emissions from pneumatic controllers, and won an iPad Pro also donated by Cox.
