Cox Business and Inc. Magazine teamed up to host the annual Get Started pitch competition on Wednesday evening during New Orleans Entrepreneur Week. The competition is modeled after the popular television show Shark Tank.
Five Louisiana-based entrepreneurs pitched in front of a live audience for the chance to win a prize package from the hosts. The startups included VR Arcade NOLA, Happy Mop, Haring Labs, RNvention, and Instapath.
The companies were judged on innovation, ease of implementation, and community impact. Instapath went home the $10,00 prize package and a 1-year Cox Business technology package. The Instapath team includes research and development specialist Mei Wang, David Tulman, who is in charge of clinical validation, software engineer Pete Lawson, and scientific advisor J. Quincy Brown.
