StartingBloc brings together entrepreneurs, activists, educators, and innovators from all around the world working to create change through the organization’s leadership institute. Organizers are heading back to New Orleans next month, May 18-22, for the third StartingBloc event in the Big Easy.
StartingBloc New Orleans hosted 72 people in 2015 and shared they were aiming for at least 10 more fellows in the second year. They are still looking for additional participants and applications are open through May 4.
Confirmed speakers include: Andrea Chen, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Propeller, Scott Sherman, Executive Director of the Transformative Action Institute, Nick Fellers, President of The Suddes Group, Ashley Elmblad, Chief of Staff of ReWork, Michelina Ferrara, Deputy Director Atlas DIY and Crystal McDonald, Founder and CEO of Acrew.
During StartingBloc, there is also a Rapid Prototyping Scrimmage that partners with community organizations. The community partners at the Scrimmage this year are Electric Girls & DiscoveryFEST NOLA.
StartingBloc will also head to New York in August and Washington, D.C. in October. For more information and deadlines, visit startingbloc.org.
