StartupBus, a moving hackathon-style experience, is coming to New Orleans this summer. From July 31 to August 4, attendees will hop on a bus, brainstorm ideas, and then build and launch a startup with a team of strangers over the course of 72 hours.
“Over a three-day period people form teams and build products while riding on a bus to the destination city,” shared one of the local organizers, Max Gaudin, who is also COO of Operation Spark. “I rode the Louisiana bus a few years ago. It was a kickass experience where I got a deep dive into building a startup while meeting lots of awesome people.”
While applications are invitation only, you can apply using code “crawfish” through this link. There are currently sponsorships available for women and people of color.
StartupBus is also launching similar events in cities such as San Francisco, St. Louis, Mexico City and New York City. The organization previously launched a Louisiana bus back in 2012.
To date, StartupBus has launched more than 300 startups with over 1,600 participating entrepreneurs, or “buspreneurs,” and connected 123 startup ecosystems around the world.
