Waitr, a Lake Charles-based on-demand food delivery service, has officially opened its operations center in Lafayette. The startup announced plans for the technology center back in 2016 and has been growing ever since.
Since launching in 2014, Waitr has added 20 cities to its roster now with over 1,200 national employees and 2,000 restaurant partners.
“Much of our success is due to our talented and extremely hard-working staff including those, right here in Lafayette, at our new facility,” Waitr CEO and founder Chris Meaux said. “We’re honored to share the celebration with them, along with our partners at the Opportunity Machine.
Waitr graduated from Opportunity Machine the same day as the ribbon cutting ceremony at the new operations center on May 11. The company was initially located at Opportunity Machine, a center for entrepreneurial growth in the Acadiana Region.
