The female-focused business Damesly hosts trips for women that combine skill building, networking, and travel. The startup has recently announced a New Orleans trip for makers.
The first ever New Orleans trip, called Makers & Magnolias, will be hosted by local curator and artist Jen Davis. The weekend retreat is aimed to reignite imagination and discover how to tap into creativity and grow your business or personal projects.
“There is a huge community of women who are looking for ways to connect with each other through travel,” said co-founder Kelly Lewis, the woman behind Go! Girl Guides. “These women are creative, they’re driven, they’re professional. I’m beyond excited to be filling a niche that hasn’t really existed for women before. It’s about bringing together women who support and encourage each other professionally, and traveling together.”
Attendees of the upcoming New Orleans trip (June 23-25) will have the opportunity to experience workshops and tours as well as conversations with creative artist and local makers including Patti of Tchoup Industries, BeMike of Studio Be, and the Music Box collective.
Past trips have included a photo tour of the Grand Canyon, a weeklong design learning course in Buenos Aires, a writing workshop in Denver, and more. There is also an upcoming trip, the first international, to Iceland in August. For additional details, visit damesly.com.
