The Bow2Tie Alarm Device is the first personal security system designed with both children, elderly people, and everyone else in between in mind. Founder Marilyn-Diana Davis, or the “grandma inventor” as she likes to say, found a gap in the market in terms of personal alarms.
“I wanted to create not only a fashionable accessory but an accessory that would bring value to both elderly citizens and children,” shared Davis. “After a little bit of brainstorming, I came up with an idea of a bow-shaped personal alarm that could be worn as a hair bow clip and bow tie clip,” she continued, making it a unisex product.
Davis specifically designed the patent-pending Bow2Tie to not be too loud for children’s ears. The product includes a coin battery, a speaker, a microcontroller, and an LED light. Each Bow2Tie also has a customizable front for customers to express their personalities through text and images.
Bow2Tie is currently on Kickstarter looking to raise $20,000 in the next 21 days. So far there have been five backers who have pledged $1,617.
