These Companies Want to Improve Educational Outcomes for All New Orleanians

The annual PitchNOLA: Education, hosted by Propeller and 4.0 Schools, is just around the corner.

“On November 8th, we’re reimagining a more equitable future for New Orleans students,” shared Propeller. “We’ll hear 10 early-stage entrepreneurs pitch their ideas to increase access and resources for New Orleans educators, parents, and youth.”

Each of the 10 finalists have a solution to improve educational outcomes for all New Orleanians and will pitch on stage for $10,000 in total funding.

We Play Center supports, trains, and provides educational programming to parents and caregivers with children ages birth to five.

Eat Your Words provides students, teachers, and parents with learning tools that assist in the early learning experience using food.

Gigsy provides photography and videography services to nonprofit and businesses, while training and providing work opportunities for high school and college-age youth who are interested in digital creative media.

JR NOLA prepares and inspires local youth for careers in journalism by providing opportunities to cover local news and live events under the editorial guidance of professional media mentors.

Sugar Roots Farm works to foster compassion and physical wellness in metro New Orleans communities through farm-to-fork education.

Parent Advocators collaborates with schools and families to break down barriers between home and school, elevate parent voice in education, and build school communities that work together to provide an excellent education for every child.

Arts NOLA develops, implements and facilitates school-based cultural arts education initiatives that help youth experience, engage, and develop a deeper social, cultural, and performative understanding of New Orleans’ indigenous cultural traditions

Upbeat Academy provides underprivileged, at-risk children with an opportunity to learn how to produce and perform music.

FollowMyCal improves parent to school engagement by centralizing personal,

professional, and social events into a single platform.

EROSYNC provides safe, innovative strategies that enhance student transportation and reduce ride costs.
