Coworking space Launch Pad opened its first location in New Orleans in 2009. After years of building its community supporting the local entrepreneurs and businesses, Launch Pad is heading to a new city in 2018, Newark, New Jersey.
Launch Pad co-founder Chris Schultz said they were looking at expanding in other markets with a similar energy to New Orleans. “I describe it as ‘people with pride and cities with soul,’” he told BrickCityLive.com. “We’re really focused on opening Launch Pad very authentically, and in a way that connects and represents the community.”
The new Launch Pad space is being developed into a 14,00 square foot shared workspace for entrepreneurs, creatives, and businesses on the second floor of the Hahne & Co. building.
In New Orleans, Launch Pad is located in the heart of downtown with a 22,500 co-working space that opened in February. Similar to its Big Easy location, the Newark location will have coworking level memberships in addition to dedicated desks and private offices.
Launch Pad also had a location is Charleston at one time and may open back up there later on. Owners plans to create a network throughout the country that leverages startup ecosystems outside of Silicon Valley, New York, and others. The company’s website says Nashville and Denver are also future Launch Pad locations.
