Wefunder is a crowd investing platform that offers capital raising services. The team recently took a train trip around the country to launch the platform and find startups and other businesses to invest in from cities including Santa Fe and Memphis.
WeFunder landed in New Orleans on the final stop of the trip. Throughout the month of December, the company visited 100 businesses–from breweries to boutiques and more–and will narrow it down to 10 to feature nationwide.
“We chose New Orleans as our stop because everyone’s been dying to go to one of coolest entrepreneur hubs in America,” shared Jiwon Moon, Head of Founder Community at WeFunder. “I’ve read about how much more energy there’s been in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina and we were really inspired by that.”
