VentureWell Plans Investor Readiness Training Program in New Orleans

VentureWell is on a mission to cultivate a pipeline of inventors, innovators, and entrepreneurs driven to solve the world’s biggest challenges. Next month, the organization will head to New Orleans for ASPIRE, an investor readiness training program for startups.

The organization is looking for dedicated scientific entrepreneurs who want to prepare for the fundraising process. Applications are currently open for the intensive, week long program through January 21. VentureWell hopes to bring 10-15 life science startups from across the country to New Orleans for the event.

“The ASPIRE program enables a region to highlight its startup community while leveraging a national network of startups, investors, and industry players that VentureWell can bring to bear,” said Eli Velasquez, Director of Venture Development. “The combination of the two, especially in regions which lack access to capital, provides fresh perspectives on innovation ecosystems within and outside of the community, helping to build stronger networks.”

Velasquez said they evaluated where else they wanted to grow the program by looking at the Kauffman Index Growth Entrepreneurship Report for 2017. “We noted both a need and an opportunity in the New Orleans region to highlight and draw angel and venture capital investors via the ASPIRE program in coordination with the strong entrepreneurial support partners in the community like Idea Village, BioInnovation Center, and Tulane University.”
