Facebook has selected six cities to test its new local news space called “Today In.” Other cities included in the testing are: Little Rock, AR; Billings, MT; Peoria, IL; Olympia, WA; Binghamton, NY.
“The new feature is designed for people to discover and engage with local news and information, including community updates, recent news, group discussions, and local events,” a representative from Facebook told Silicon Bayou News.
“Today In” can be found in the bookmark section of the Facebook app. “The test will help Facebook continue to learn how to better connect people to local news and information, hoping to facilitate more meaningful connections between people and their communities, including their local publishers and content creators.”
