The Open Music Initiative is a non-profit collective of musicians, entrepreneurs, industry professionals, academics, technologists and policy experts who love and value music. Originally launched in 2016 by Berklee College of Music’s Institute for Creative Entrepreneurship, Open Music has now partnered with Ace Hotel on a series created to drive new artist engagement opportunities.
Open Music X Ace Hotel free public series will be hosted in several of the Ace Hotel properties beginning next week. The series of workshops and demonstrations is designed to foster creative dialogue, and explore the impact technology will have on the future of artistry and fan engagement. The first event in the series will take place on Tuesday, February 27 at the Ace Hotel New Orleans.
“There is so much opportunity for creative expression and forward-thinking pursuits in the digital realm, and we’re honored to be working with Berklee’s Institute for Creative Entrepreneurship and their Open Music Initiative to bring new exploratory technologies into our communities,” said Kelly Sawdon, Partner and Chief Brand Officer of Ace Hotel Group. “We’re lucky enough to operate in cities with overwhelming artistic talent and can’t wait to see what insights they discover given the necessary tools and knowledge. We’re excited to kick off the partnership in New Orleans, with the possibility to expand to other cities in the near future.”
The artist-focused workshop will explore the creative possibilities unlocked through new technologies, such as the income streams of the future, the role Blockchain will play, how Artificial Intelligence will change artistry, and more. RSVP for the New Orleans event here.
